Denver, CO (September 30, 2014) Mark Daniel has joined Timberline Adventures (https://www.timbertours.com) team of top-notch professional guides. Daniel is a retired U.S. Park Ranger who specialized in backcountry and wilderness management during his career with the National Park Service.
As a youngster, Daniel was influenced by his father’s love of the outdoors on family trips to the National Parks and pursued that passion by becoming an Eagle Scout. Daniel is also a gifted writer and photographer and shares his love for the outdoors through images and articles that celebrate nature. An avid hiker, backpacker, cyclist, and sailor, he has lived in the Colorado Rocky Mountains for 15 years.
Daniels Extensive Experience
Daniel joins another former U.S. Park Ranger on our guide team. Veteran guide Patty Shafer has spent the better part of three decades living, working and playing in the National Parks. Shafer worked as an Emergency Services Ranger, which included law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, and visitor services.
Timberline Adventures is justifiably proud of the caliber of its guides. Daniel and Shafer’s extensive experience working with the public in wilderness settings is an invaluable asset to the company.
“Our tours attract customers who want to do more than sit on a bus and look out the window,” said Timberline Adventures co-owner Dave Harris. “We hire guides with deep knowledge of the National Parks – guides who know the trails and the wildlife where they work. Our customers deserve nothing less.”
Timberline Adventures has been creating exceptional active travel experiences for 32 years. The company’s focus is on self-propelled, active exploration in nature, with trips to 37 different National Parks. Timberline Adventures was recently recognized with the National Geographic 50 Tours of a Lifetime Award. Learn more about our bicycle and hiking tours at https://www.timbertours.com/.
