Southern Utah Guided Hiking Tour
This hiking trip in Southern Utah is a geologic fantasyland that offers some of the most fascinating and breathtakingly beautiful landscapes to be found on this planet. Nowhere is nature’s workshop so dramatically displayed, where time is inconsequential and the artistry will always be a work in progress. Thankfully, much of nature’s handiwork in the region lies within the protective confines of a series of national parks and monuments that are remarkably accessible for those ambitious enough to set forth on foot to explore their wonders. We’ll explore the heart of Utah’s “color country” with our Bryce and Zion Hiking Tour.
Hike these iconic national park trails and stay in the historic lodges.
The parks are quite different in geology and elevation, but are only 40 miles apart from each other, making an obvious twofer tour. Bryce Canyon is 5000 ft higher than Zion, and features hoodoos, mazes, ponderosa forests and sandstone cliffs. Zion has a warmer, more desert climate, with varied vegetation and a real canyon feel. Its prominent features include the fin-like Angels Landing trail, and the famous water hike in the Narrows of the Virgin River. We stay in the historic lodges in both Zion and Bryce, to give the full experience of both parks. Our hikes include all the must-sees, as well as some additional explorations to some lesser seen areas.
This tour does not have significantly longer trails, but the challenge is in the steepness and exposure. If you are in good condition and not averse to drop offs you will do fine on this tour.
