Snowshoeing in Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, America’s first National Park, is a popular summertime destination, but winter brings a special  beauty, and a solitary feel in this unique landscape. Our experience at Mammoth Hot Springs will bring the wilderness to you, as we explore the area on snowshoes, visiting waterfalls, travertine terraces, thermal areas where the wildlife gathers and hidden valleys that seem like another world.

No experience is necessary on our Yellowstone Snowshoe tour, and snowshoes will be provided. Our guides will be able to instruct you on the proper techniques of snowshoe use, which is quickly learned. The trails for the tour are beginner to advanced beginner categories. An added bonus on this tour is a Wolf Tracker excursion. An experienced wildlife guide will take us on an early morning exploration to the Lamar valley for wolf and other wildlife sightings!

Our home for three nights is at the historic Mammoth Lodge – one of the first Grand Hotels of our national parks, built in 1936. As a bonus, we will enjoy our 4th night at the famous Chico Hot Springs, with time for a snowshoe and a soak on the private property.  Come join us on this amazing, unique tour.

This tour is more of a front country experience – we will have the use of the van for the entire tour, the lodge is a destination for a variety of tourists, and the spa experience provides a luxurious finale to our tour.  If you are looking for a more exclusive and secluded backcountry experience, try our Yellowstone Snowshoe Tour at Old Faithful.
