Blue Ridge Parkway Bike Tour

This is a bucket list ride along Skyline Drive, which connects to the Blue Ridge Parkway:  624 miles of gorgeous vistas and dramatic elevations. The parkway snakes through the Blue Ridge Mountains and traverses the states of Virginia and North Carolina, and offers us a chance to challenge and amaze.  Our lodging stays as close to the parkway as possible, but we will sometimes have to swoop out of the mountains to find a comfortable bed and a hearty meal.  The Timberline van will always be available to help you regain your elevation in the morning to continue the Parkway quest.

Our Bike Tour Schedule

We spend 9 days on our Blue Ridge Parkway bike tour, and have scheduled the ride later in the year to enjoy the cool mornings and warm afternoons. We end our riding at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and shuttle back to Asheville for a celebratory dinner.  Transportation to the Asheville airport is included on the next day.  This challenging ride includes distances of up to 80 miles and accumulated elevations each day of between 4,700 and 10,600 ft, if you include riding from the hotel each day.  Shuttle boosts are happily provided in the Timberline van.
