Southwest Region Hiking

We hike in two of Utah’s Mighty Five national parks through gaping canyons, open desert and towering mesas covered with stands of pinion and juniper, natural arches, spires and towers, and miles and miles of colorful slick rock.

In the heart of Utah’s red rock country, within the 100 mile Waterpocket Fold, we will explore cliffs, canyons, domes, petroglyphs and bridges.

A hiker’s bucket list item includes a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. With introductory hikes in the red rocks of Sedona, and additional hikes on the south rim, this challenging tour with give you a grand experience in the canyon area.

Cycle through Color Country for a tour of indescribable beauty, including two of Utah’s best National Parks.

The tour visits several nearby regions including Great Sand Dunes National Park, Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, and Wheeler Peak Wilderness, with the culturally rich centers of Taos, Santa Fe, and Ojo Caliente.

Two of Utah’s Mighty 5 national parks exemplifies the amazing geology at work to create canyons, valleys, hoodoos, spires, rock walls and razor sharp fins.

We explore the many mountain ranges that ring the Tucson area, including the cactus filled Saguaro National Park , and the hoodoos and balancing rocks of the nearby Chiricahua National Monument.

Hike the high country of the Chisos Mountains, experience the Chihuahuan Desert environment, and enjoy the breathtaking gorges carved by the Rio Grande. A bonus day of boating on the Rio Grande is included.

This lesser visited National Park encompasses high alpine summits, sagebrush plains, a karst cave and the oldest known trees – the Bristlecone.

A combined trip to the seldom visited Guadalupe mountains, including the highest point in Texas, with a visit to the nearby Carlsbad Caverns formed in a limestone reef.

Designed for those not wanting the long trip to the bottom of the canyon, this tour explores both the south and north rims of the Grand Canyon, and the iconic hikes in Zion Canyon.

A hiker’s bucket list item includes a Rim-to-River-to-Rim hike in the Grand Canyon. With warm up hikes in nearby canyons and a celebration Rim walk on the last day, our itinerary gives the full Grand Canyon experience.
