Santa Barbara Cycling Tour – 5 Day Self-Guided

The Southern California vibe, the excellent wines of the region, and five days of superb cycling – what’s not to like?  One of the first in our new, self guided offerings, this tour has a natural appeal.  Winding, hilly routes challenge, cool ocean breezes and fruity orchards sooth, lost canyon roads bring quiet retrospect, and all combine to deliver an experience for all your senses.

The tour starts in fabled Santa Barbara just below it’s Landmark Spanish Mission.  You will enjoy a loop ride from the town before riding on the second day to Solvang, known for its Danish-style architecture and many wineries. From there, riding days include loops to the coast and around the Four Canyons route.  The final ride is a return to Santa Barbara with an ultimate climb over the Santa Ynez mountains.  An alternate, less strenuous route is also offered. The tour includes rides of up to 65 miles and daily climbs of up to 5,000 ft.

This tour can be booked for any dates April through November.  The routes can be tailored toward your riding ability.  Luggage transfer is included between Santa Barbara and Solvang on the second day of riding, and back to Santa Barbara on the fifth and last day of riding.  Tours must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance, with a minimum of 2 participants.
