Back to Isle Royale National Park Tour Page
On Day 1 you will be picked up in Houghton and shuttled to Marquette, but not without some beautiful hikes along the shores of Lake Superior and on Sugarloaf Mountain. Tonight’s stay will be in Marquette
We will enjoy Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Day 2 with a hike on the Chapel Loop, giving us expansive views of Lake Superior (11 miles). .
On Day 3 we shuttle to Copper Harbor with several stops along the way for some excursions to waterfalls, coastlines, and viewpoints. Our overnight will put us in prime position to access the ferry in the morning.
Day 4 begins with a 3 plus hour boat ride to Isle Royale where we will be for the rest of the tour. We will hike Stoll Trail Loop upon our arrival and enjoy the island atmosphere.
Day 5 starts with a water taxi to Hidden Point, where we will hike to Lookout Louise, up to Mt. Franklin via Greenstone Ridge, and return to the lodge on the Tobin Harbor Trail.
On Day 6 we will taxi to Daisy Farm where we can ascend Mt Ojibway, take in the views from the fire tower, and return tp the lodge on the Greenstone Ridge Trail. There is also the option to hike directly back on the gentler Rock Harbor Trail back to the lodge.
Our final Day 7 has options to rent a canoe or kayak, walk the Three Mile campground loop, or just sit back and enjoy the island’s beauty. After lunch, we will board the boat back to Copper Harbor and then drive back to Houghton and the conclusion of our Isle Royale National Park hiking trip. Note that due to the ferry schedule, we arrive late into Houghton. A flight out that evening is probably not possible, and the tour will include a group dinner before we disband.
