CENTRAL APPALACHIA Tour Weather
The dates selected for our tours of the Central Appalachia and the Blue Ridge Moutains, including Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee, are designed to capture either the full glory of spring or the beginning of fall color change in an area renowned for its natural beauty at these times of the year. Temperatures during mid-May time frame will range from the mid-70’s to lower-80’s during the day, while dropping into the 50’s at night. Late September – October temperatures can be cooler, ranging anywhere from the mid-50’s during a cool period to the lower-80’s.
Although we’d like to tell you that rain during these periods is unlikely, we’d hate to lie. The lush rolling grasslands of Bluegrass Country and the renowned foliage of the Blue Ridge suggest that a shower or two (or three) in the course of our week should compell everyone to be prepared with rain gear.
