Laura

A client recently remarked “Laura was born to be a guide!” A veteran guide from the early days of Timberline, Laura has returned to lead tours after a career teaching art in public schools. Before teaching, she worked at Breckenridge Ski Area in skier services and ski racing, and as a National Park Service Ranger. She designed and led interpretive bike tours for visitors to Cape Cod National Seashore. And as a self-taught French speaker, she led bike tours in Switzerland, France, and the Netherlands, and claims the capacity to smile in every language! Laura was raised in charming New England in a Civil War era house, yet made the mountains of Colorado her permanent home in 1982. When not guiding, she consults for College Board AP Studio Art, is a USSA judge for freestyle mogul skiing, and enjoys encaustic painting, mixed media and jewelry metalsmithing. Happily married to a biologist who also loves biking, skiing, kayaking, and anything outside, Laura loves the way hiking and biking slow the pace of life to appreciate your day and surroundings so fully, while separating you from your everyday concerns. She is looking forward to making memories with you on tour – come join her!
