Rocky Mountain National Park is one of America’s natural wonders, with more hikes than you can fit into one tour. When the park turned 100 in 2015, our retired Rocky Mountain rangers designed an additional adventure for our guests with the opportunity to explore some high altitude hiking. We will hike above 10,000 feet on most of our six day hikes. During the course of the week we will cross the Continental Divide twice, visit Sky Pond, as well as challenge ourselves with our day 4 hike from Flattop Mountain to Green Mountain. The Flattop Mountain hike bears a bit of elucidation. During this hike we will travel 16 miles with an elevation gain of 2,849 feet then lose 3,800 feet with a top elevation of 12,234 feet as it provides a cross park route from Estes Park to Grand Lake.

The wildlife will be preparing for the winter ahead, and will be more active. Deer, elk and moose will be sporting their impressive racks and will be collecting their harems.
