Jim has always had a love of cycling. He began participating in bicycle tours throughout the United States and Europe in the early 1990’s. He was a participant in two Ride the Rockies bicycle tours and served on the staff for The Bicycle Tours of Colorado for three years. In 2002 he completed the Adventure Cycling’s leadership training school. He began his career as a bicycling tour guide with International Bicycle Tours leading tours in Tucson, AZ, Door County, WS, the C&O canal route by the Potomac RIver, and in the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.
He began leading tours for Timberline Adventures in 2005 and over the past 12 years, tours have taken him all over the US and Canada. Jim says it is hard to list his favorite tour, but he would list the Bitterroot and Sawtooth Mountain tour as one of the most challenging.
Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and the four grandchildren. He also enjoys teaching his indoor cycling classes at the YMCA. He holds certifications for indoor cycling from Spinning, Keise and the YMCA and is certified in CPR and First Aid. Jim prides himself on his bicycle mechanic skills, experience and his overall mastery of cycling.
